VMS - User/Role
Here you handle the accounts and permissions for everyone who can access this VMS.
Pro Tip: These settings have no effect on users accessing the systems via OvrC or the on-site NVR.
Managing roles
The system always creates a super administrator. This account cannot be deleted. To add additional users, you must create additional roles.
To add a role, click “Role” in the left column to open the roles interface. Enter the role name and then check the permissions as desired. Click Save.
To delete a role, hover your mouse over its name. A trash can appears next to the name; click the trash can to delete the role.
To edit a role, click on a role's name, make any necessary adjustments, and click Save.
Managing users
You cannot create a second user until you have created at least one new role. There can never be two super administrators.
To create a user, hover over the name of the role that person will have. Click the person icon. Give the person a name, password, role, and schedule. You can also set their schedule access, make a note for yourself, and disable the person temporarily. Finally, you can bind that user's access to be enabled only if it comes from a specific device (defined by its MAC address); be sure to check the box next to the MAC address field if using this option.
