Advanced configuration — Using multiple switches

This option distributes MoIP endpoints across the network topology and shares network switches with non-MoIP devices. It’s critical to calculate the amount of bandwidth used on each switch and its uplinks to have a reliable system.

Multi-gig uplinks are required between extended MoIP switches. Numerous network switch manufacturers offer switches with multi-gig uplink/SFP ports to support multiple switch deployments.

For multiple switch installs using B-900 devices, use Araknis 620 and 920 switches or Pakedge MS switches.

Caution: Do not connect non-MoIP devices to your MoIP switch.

B-960 configurations must use an Araknis 920 switch. Read MoIP configuration for AN-920 Edge switches for more information.
