Troubleshooting Episode MoIP amplifiers
Episode amplifiers are designed to function trouble-free. Most problems that occur are due to simple issues. If you’re having trouble, check the list of simple fixes below. If the problem persists, visit snp1.co/techsupport.
No audio output from any channel?
-
Verify power is connected or plugged into an outlet that has power.
-
Make sure the cable between the source and amplifier is connected properly. If it is, replace the cable with the amplifier powered off.
-
Verify the source is outputting audio.
No audio output from one or more channels?
-
The cable connecting the source to the amplifier is defective or not connected properly. Check the connections or replace the cable (with the amplifier powered off) with a cable that has been verified as good.
-
Verify the Zone Type to make sure your speakers and sub(s) are connected to the amplifier correctly.
-
Check the connections of the speaker wire at both the speaker and amplifier. Power the amp off before making any changes.
No audio from only one channel or one zone?
-
When adding a sub to one or many zones, use a mono RCA cable to plug into either a subwoofer amplifier or a powered in-room subwoofer. The Sub out is a summation of the zones source input and is crossed over at 200Hz. To further adjust the crossover for a given zone, use the crossover adjustment on the subwoofer’s power source.
-
Verify the Zone Type to make sure your speakers and sub(s) are connected to the amplifier correctly.
Hearing a hum or buzzing sound?
Check the RCA input cables by removing them one at a time (powering down the amplifier before disconnecting) and check if a connection or cable is to blame.
Amplifier won’t turn on?
-
Verify the amplifier is plugged into a live outlet or PoE source.
-
Ensure the power light bar on the front panel is on (blue LED).
Amplifier won’t appear in OvrC?
-
Verify there is a MoIP Controller connected to the same network/system.
-
If the amp is connected properly and there is a MoIP Controller in the same system, press and hold the reset button on the back of the amp for 10 seconds.
