Control4 OS 4.3 Release Notes
1 Introduction
We're excited to introduce Control4 OS X4.3, the release that opens Control4 projects to a whole new catalog of connected devices.
Control4 now supports certified Zigbee 3.0 devices from other manufacturers, starting with the ones we've written drivers for. New Kwikset and Yale smart locks are first, with Somfy shades close behind. Each comes into a project and is controlled through standard Control4 drivers, fewer conversations that end in "sorry, that one isn't supported," and more of the home under one system. Third-party development isn't open yet. A developer SDK is planned for 2027, which will let any Zigbee 3.0 manufacturer build their own integration.
This release also completes the rollout of the Enhanced Surveillance Experience. What started as an opt-in preview is now simply how surveillance works, for every X4 customer on OS 4.3 or later, with Quick Actions putting the lights, locks, and garage door right next to the live camera image.
The new Communication V2 agent delivers the next generation of Control4's communication service, the platform behind the new doorstation and video doorbell experience. Answer the door from the camera itself with two-way talk now in the live view.
Underneath all of it, OS X4.3 lands a substantial set of stability and reliability work across Director, lighting, audio, the Zigbee and Z-Wave meshes, and the controller update process.
