7 Device Image Updater v2 Security Changes

As part of recent platform updates, modifications have been implemented regarding how controllers running X4 (4.0) and later interact with Device Image Updater. This section details the impact of these changes for Control4 partners and offers guidance for working with different software versions.

Controllers running X4 (OS 4.0) and newer:

• The controller must be factory defaulted to connect using Device Image Updater.

• Device Image Updater does not support upgrading to X4 (4.0) or above.

• Controllers already running X4 (4.0) or higher will only display versions up to 3.4.3; later versions are not listed.

Controllers running OS 3.4.3 or older:

• Device Image Updater functions as it did previously.

• X4 (OS 4.0) and higher will not appear in the available version list.
